Choose the dining area by occasion and return route, then choose the restaurant. Grand Case, Simpson Bay, Orient Bay, Philipsburg, Marigot and the west end each create a different evening.

Grand Case or Simpson Bay

Grand Case is the clearest choice when the meal is the evening. Allow time for the drive and an unhurried service, then confirm the current menu, table and return driver.

Simpson Bay has a broad mix of cuisines and styles near the Dutch-side yachting hub. It works for mixed preferences and evenings that may continue into drinks or live music, although traffic still needs room in the plan.

Orient Bay, Philipsburg or Marigot

Orient Bay can carry guests from loungers into lunch without another transfer, while Orient Village gives the area a separate dinner setting. Confirm whether the request is beach service, a table or both.

Philipsburg works when lunch is part of a Boardwalk, Great Bay or shopping plan. Marigot suits a waterfront or market-area lunch and a slower French-side day. Hours and atmosphere vary, so neither should be promised from an old listing.

Maho or Cupecoy for more energy

The west end can suit guests who want dinner followed by a lounge, music, casino or another evening stop. It can also be practical for some western berths or airport movements.

This is not the default for a quiet meal. Check entertainment, table position, noise and transport before matching the area to the party.

Match the occasion, not only the cuisine

For a food-first dinner, prioritize the kitchen, pacing and table over the view. For a birthday, anniversary or proposal, settle what should happen and what should stay discreet. Cake storage, flowers, photography and timing with the yacht are separate arrangements.

For a short evening after arrival, stay close to the berth. A good nearby table is more useful than a well-known restaurant that adds a long or uncertain transfer.

Do not reuse an old ‘best restaurants’ list as a booking tool. Chefs, opening days, ownership and service styles change. Keep a private, date-checked shortlist for the actual party and confirm the final choice directly with the venue.

Send a proper dining brief and protect the return

Include the occasion, party size, preferred pace, cuisine, dislikes, exact dietary restrictions, children, mobility and desired atmosphere. Allergies should be sent in writing, and the venue should confirm both the menu option and its approach to cross-contact.

Work backwards from the yacht’s schedule. Confirm where the driver waits, who receives changes and which nearby venue can handle the same occasion if the original booking changes.

Planning list

Brief the table and the return

  • Date, party size, berth and hard return
  • Occasion and formality
  • Preferred cuisines and firm dislikes
  • Exact dietary restrictions and allergies
  • Children, mobility and accessibility needs
  • Table, view, privacy or live atmosphere
  • Cake, flowers, gifts or photography
  • Deposit, cancellation, driver and fallback

Questions that change the plan

Settle these first.

Which side has the best restaurants?

Neither side has one best answer. Grand Case is strong for a food-led dinner, Simpson Bay for range and convenience, and Orient Bay for beach dining or a relaxed village evening.

How far ahead should yacht teams reserve?

Reserve when the itinerary and party size are stable, particularly for small rooms, special tables and peak periods. Keep the booking updated as numbers change.

Can restaurants handle serious allergies?

Capability is venue-specific. Send the exact allergy in writing and ask the restaurant to confirm both the menu and its cross-contact approach. Sea Grapes should not guarantee safety on the restaurant’s behalf.

Can Sea Grapes arrange a special occasion?

Yes. Sea Grapes can coordinate the restaurant, transport, cake, flowers, table requests and timing with the yacht, subject to lead time and supplier availability.

Ready to plan it?

Give us the occasion, not just a cuisine.

Share the guest profile, berth, timing, dietary needs and the kind of meal they want. Sea Grapes can shortlist the area, confirm the live details and arrange the return.
