Choose the mood before the route
Guests recovering from a passage should not be sent across the island for a checklist of sights. Active guests need room for briefings and changing. Guests interested in food and local character benefit from fewer stops and more time at each one.
Confirm energy, mobility, water confidence, dietary needs, desired privacy, acceptable driving and the required return before selecting the route.
Build from the yacht’s side of the island when two options are equally good. A destination should earn a longer transfer through a distinctive experience, not because it appeared first in an online list.
Plan one: quiet coast and a long table
Reserve a beach, pool or coastal setting selected after checking the day’s conditions, then add an unhurried lunch nearby or on the return route. This suits couples, adult groups, mixed generations and guests who want a low-effort day.
Hold a pool, wellness appointment or long lunch as the alternative if wind, swell or sargassum makes the original coast unsuitable.

Plan two: height, movement and a late lunch

Check eligibility, footwear, waivers and personal limits for the exact activity. Do not book the most demanding option for an entire party by default.
Plan three: two capitals, island character and food
Begin with a focused Philipsburg route around the Boardwalk, Front Street, architecture, murals or selected shops. Continue by driver to Marigot for a waterfront lunch, market area or Fort Louis when the guests and conditions suit the climb.
This plan has the greatest road exposure. If a late start or traffic compresses the day, choose one capital and give it proper time instead of rushing both.
Keep one part optional
Agree which element may be removed if guests start late or stay longer at the anchor experience. Sequence reservations so one delay does not undo the rest of the day.

No. They are alternatives, not a checklist. Combining them adds too much driving and too many fixed commitments for a guest-focused day.

The two-capital plan gives the broadest sense of the island. Choose the quiet or active plan when rest or a particular experience matters more than general sightseeing.
Can the day include both Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin?
Yes, but build the route so one side can be removed if traffic, timing or guest energy changes.
