Speed starts before dispatch. Agree the exact part, paperwork, consignee, Customs route and final receiver before the shipment moves.

- Exact part data

- The receiving chain
Identify the part before asking for speed
Send the maker, model, part number, revision, quantity, dimensions, weight, photograph and acceptable substitute. 'Urgent pump part' creates calls; an exact specification creates a search.
Set the receiving chain
Agree who is consignee, who receives carrier notices, who handles Customs questions and who signs at the final delivery point.
SXM has a dedicated cargo facility and an on-site Customs office, but the airport does not provide shipment tracking.
Treat flight arrival, warehouse availability, Customs status and legal release as four separate milestones. The engineer needs the next actionable status, not simply an aircraft-arrival notification.
Compare local sourcing with import
The SMMTA directory covers chandlery, spare parts, marine hardware, electronics, couriers and technical trades. A locally available alternative may save time, but the yacht's responsible technical person must approve its suitability.
Keep clearance and installation separate
Clearance does not confirm that a component is correct or safe to install. Sea Grapes can coordinate sourcing, freight and delivery; selection, testing and installation remain with the yacht and appropriately qualified technicians.

Questions that change the plan
Settle these before anyone moves.
Can a yacht part be sent directly to the marina?
Only when the courier, consignee and marina access procedure have been agreed. Do not put an unconfirmed berth or yacht name alone on the shipment.
Does Sint Maarten's trading reputation mean every yacht part is duty-free?
No blanket Customs treatment should be assumed. Confirm the procedure for the goods and intended use before shipping.
Can SXM Airport track an air-freight shipment?
No. The airport directs customers to the cargo airline, freight forwarder or courier for tracking.
Will Sea Grapes decide whether a substitute part is suitable?
No. The yacht's responsible technical team must approve the specification. Sea Grapes can coordinate the search and delivery.
Ready to arrange it?
Send us the part details first.
Share the specification, shipment status, documents, yacht, marina and required delivery window. Sea Grapes can coordinate the shore-side chain, subject to carrier, Customs and supplier availability.
